Waterjet Cutting

Few cutting processes are as versatile as waterjet, especially with a cutting table that accommodates material up to 80 inches wide by 160 inches long and 6" thick. Milan's Machining brings that versatility each time to your project. If you need precise, clean cuts on thick or complex materials without heat distortion, waterjet is the right solution.

Waterjet Cutting – How It Works

Waterjet cutting uses a high-pressure stream of water mixed with abrasive media to cut through material with no heat. This matters as we know that heat changes metal. Heat can change the hardness, introduce stress, warp thin sections, and compromise the material around the cut edge. Waterjet eliminates those concerns, making it the preferred process for materials and applications where the quality of the edges and integrity of the material -  matters.

Milan’s waterjet handles a variety of materials. These materials include steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper, titanium, rubber, and plastics. When done, parts have smooth, precise edges that require little to no secondary finishing, which saves time and money further down the production process.

Our shop can accommodate oversized plate work, multiple parts laid out on a single sheet that maximizes materials and cutting, as well as long or wide components. Combined with our milling, turning, and grinding capabilities, waterjet cutting at Milan's Machining gives our customers a more complete path from raw material to finished parts.
